Amazing Middle School MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Results!

More great news from CK Instrumental Music!
The Michigan Schools Band and Orchestra Association’s (MSBOA) Middle School District Solo and Ensemble Festival was held at Waldon Middle School on Saturday, April 14th, 2018. The event resulted in a host of excellent performances from each middle school student who attended.

The Michigan Schools Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) is a professional organization of 1,300 teachers of instrumental music in school districts throughout Michigan. Beginning in 1934 as a single district event, the festival has grown to a 16-district festival that services over 1,200 public, parochial, and private schools. Students perform solo or collaborative pieces for evaluation by professional musicians and instructors. Over 60,000 students in Michigan participate annually in MSBOA festivals, either individually or as part of a larger group.

Performance ratings range from first to fifth division. Performers who receive a first division (superior) or second division (very good) rating are awarded medals to commemorate their proficiencies. This year, every student received a medal for their performance, as only I and II ratings were earned by the CK musicians!
