Two Senior Athletes Participate in National Signing Day

Two CK senior athletes participated in National Signing Day this past Wednesday, February 1st. Both students were joined by their families, coaches, teammates, and administrators in celebration of their decisions to compete in their respective sports at the college level.

Jalen Allen has signed to Columbia University’s football team. His athletic career at Cranbrook consists of his being a captain for 2 years, a 4-year varsity letterman, and a Catholic All-League member in his sophomore year. He finished out his time on the field with an impressive 20 touchdowns.

Daniel Russell Jr. has signed with Kenyon College and plans to major in Economics. He is an 11 letter winner at Cranbrook, having lettered in football, basketball, and track. He also served as captain of the Varsity Track Team for two years. In his 4 years as a varsity football player on defense, 61.5 Tackles (14 for a loss), 5.5 sacks, and 4 interceptions. On the offensive side of the ball, he had 43 catches for 381 yards, 3 touchdowns and 620 all-purpose yards. He was also named All Catholic, All Oakland County Honorable Mention and All League.
