Wilds challenge Cranes

C.Harrington/T.Brooks
Back at our home rink, positive vibes were runnin’ high with the game verse the Walled Lake Wild.  Brooks ”I was really happy with the level of competition from our team…it’s only a matter of time before we start winning.”
From the drop of the puck, the girls were on the prowl to put one in the net.  Defense Lela Lantigua had a rush up the ice followed with a graceful goal at 13:33 from Timko and assist by Lantigua that put the Cranes on the board.  Defensive Phoebe Knoer also had a rush in the first period with a goal by Timko at 6:36 and assist by Knoer.  The girls battled fiercely on the boards for possession of the puck and the mighty defense held the blue line giving more time in the Wild zone.
Goalie Mira Norton had 33 shots on net and made immaculate stops to hold the Wilds off.
Everyone on the benches could feel the good vibe sportsmanship and although the Cranes were tamed by the Wild via goals, the spirit of the Cranes made it a winning game!
