Brown Scores Game Winner for 3-2 Victory over Norsemen

The Cranbrook Kingswood girls varsity hockey team  had an exciting 3-2 league victory on Saturday night at home against Grosse Pointe North. Senior, forward, Caroline Brown, scored the game winner with 46 seconds remaining in the third period to get the Cranes their first win of the season. The scoring started from Grosse Pointe North at 6:21 in the first period. The Cranes tied the game 1-1 just one minute later with a gritty goal in front of the net from Brown. Mid-way through the second period, the Cranes took the 2-1 lead with a big slap shot from defenseman, Emily Jerris. Heading into the third period, Grosse Pointe North got a breakaway to tie the game 2-2. Both teams continued to battle and it was thanks to two huge save from CK goaltender, Julia Housey, with 2 minutes remaining, that the Cranes were able to take the lead on their next goal. The final score was 3-2.
