Not all learning takes place within the confines of a classroom or a school building. As we expand the classroom to include other experiences, cities, and environments, we expand each student’s sense of the world and our place in it. Interim trips are carefully designed, grade-specific trips off-campus that are integrated into the curriculum. These trips are treasured memories for all our students and are eagerly anticipated each year. In hiking and biking across different terrains, interacting with chaperones and teachers in new environments, or studying first-hand the history of other towns and states, the interim program challenges students to develop physically, academically, and socially in ways that classroom learning can’t. These interim programs encourage the independence, self-reliance, collaborative spirit, and sense of fun that prepare our students to meet many challenges.
