For students of middle school age, some of the most teachable moments happen on a playing field. Children of any level of athletic ability have the opportunity to participate in sports. While we enjoy winning, the focus remains on learning. Through the experience of athletic participation, students learn values, habits, and lessons that will carry over from field to life. These include teamwork, discipline, commitment, and sportsmanship.
At the Upper School, there is a wide range of opportunity in the many sports Cranbrook offers at the varsity and sub-varsity level. Coaches are knowledgeable and experienced and are great teachers and role models. The Cranbrook campus is second to none as a setting for athletics practice and competition. Students have a fulfilling and fun experience. The personal growth and development that students experience helps provide the foundation for citizenship, leadership, and success in life. Cranbrook believes in the value of athletics as an integral part of the educational experience for students – both as athletes and spectators.
