The Senior May Project allows qualified senior students to participate in experiential projects outside the School community. In-depth development of long-standing skills and interests, serious exploration of possible career choices, or the acquisition of technical proficiency in a new field are encouraged. Interested Seniors must submit a written proposal to the Senior May Project Committee by a specified time in February.
In order to participate in the program, students must be in good academic and social standing. All schoolwork must be completed before students start the project in mid-May, with no final grade lower than a C-. Students on Citizenship Probation must submit a petition to the SMP Committee. Students going on Citizenship Probation after a Project is approved should be aware their Project could be in jeopardy. In both situations, a vote of the Committee, in conjunction with recommendations from the Campus Deans, will determine if the student will be allowed to pursue a Project.
