Cranbrook Named SMART Showcase School of the Year

In addition to being named one of only 25 SMART Elite Schools, Cranbrook Schools has been named the 2012 SMART Showcase School of the Year.

This recognition is awarded annually by SMART Technologies to a school in North America.

Adopted by Cranbrook Schools over a decade ago (1998), SMART Board interactive whiteboards are fast becoming the standard for in-classroom educational technology: both in Southeastern Michigan and around the world. Combining the simplicity of a whiteboard with the power of a computer, the SMART Board interactive whiteboard lets teachers deliver dynamic lessons, write notes in digital ink, and save their work – all with the simple touch of a finger.

Cranbrook has two SMART certified trainers on staff, and two faculty members have been recognized as SMART Exemplary Educators (SEEs).

In November of 2011, Cranbrook Schools hosted Michigan’s first ever SMART Content Creation Seminar. The seminar, which featured SMART Exemplary Educators from around the country, was open to educators who were selected through an application process.
