 | TECHNO-botics Robotics Camp Cranbrook is excited to offer a variety of fresh robotics camps this year. These programs will explore the realms of science and technology with leading edge applied robotics. Working with various robotics software, campers will design, build, and program autonomous robots to explore challenges that are only as limited as a camper's imagination!
Programs are for boys and girls, grades 5-9 as of 2009-2010 enrollment.
Program Costs
- VEX Involution™ Competition: $425
- Robot Sumo: $250
- Aquabots or P.R.O.B.E.: $725

| VEX Involution™ Competition Involution™is a battle-tested intermediate-level robotics game that offers fast-paced action and offers true tests of efficient robot design, control and skill.
The combination of a unique scoring goal and a limited number of scoring components add elements of strategy and quick thinking into the problem-solving equation. Rookie and veteran robot builders can be competitive at the same time, and will both find this game a serious test of their abilities.
Equipment: VEX with ROBOTC programming language.

 | Robot Sumo Robot Sumo is a competition where two autonomous robots (computer brains on board) attempt to push each other out of a ring. The
engineering challenges are for the robot to find its opponent and to push it out of the flat arena. No remote control or human intervention
of any kind, and no tethered, IR, or RF connection to a host computer may be used during competition. A robot should also avoid leaving
the arena, by means of a sensor that detects the edge of the ring. Campers will construct robots with parts from or compatible with a
MINDSTORMS NXT piece, rubber bands, removable tape, cardboard, etc.
Equipment: LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT with ROBOTC programming language.

 | Aquabots—Bermuda Triangle Expedition Aquabots is an undersea adventure for robotics explorers that delves into the science and mysteries of the legendary Bermuda Triangle. Campers or “Aquanauts” will voyage to Sea Lab Nautilus, deep beneath the ominous Bermuda Triangle. Campers will design
robots to help accomplish tasks at the base. Over the length of the “voyage” Aquanauts will experience roles as engineers, programmers,
designers, and researchers.
Equipment: LEGO MINDSTORMS with Robolab programming language.

 | P.R.O.B.E.—Space Mission Adventure Space Mission Adventure awakens young minds to the beauty, mystery and thrill of scientific discovery. Campers or “Cadets” will journey to the mysterious deep space Planet H-99. Over the length of the “flight” and on the “planet mission”, cadets will experience roles as engineers, programmers, designers, and researchers. Campers will design, build, and program a robot to perform tasks on Planet H-99.
Equipment: LEGO MINDSTORMS with Robolab programming language.
