Our athletic facilities and beautiful outdoor fields are utilized by various Cranbrook camps and sports programs. These camps and programs offer dedicated and experienced coaching staff and high-quality instruction focusing on sportsmanship, skills and fitness. Low staff-to-athlete ratios keep coaches close to the action to provide maximum coaching and guidance.

Basketball CampJunior Division ~ for Boys and Girls entering Grades 4-8

Session: June 17 – June 21, 2013 $200
Basketball camp will focus on fundamentals and strength training. Athletes will be instructed on basics of ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, and positional defense, and will engage in fast paced, competitive game-like situations. They will be provided instruction on how to strength train safely and effectively using age appropriate basketball-specific exercises.

Coach Finney in his 10th year as the Varsity Boys Coach, is in his 17th year as a coach at Cranbrook. Coach Finney was the Girls Varsity Head coach for 7 seasons where his team captured the 2007 District Championship. The first one is schools history. Cranbrook Basketball teams have never faced a losing season in Coach Finney’s 16 year tenure. Coach Finney taught at Brookside School for 10 years and last six years he’s been the Associate Athletic Director of Cranbrook Schools. Coach Finney has also coached Varsity Football and Track and Field at Cranbrook. Coach Finney completed his under graduate studies at Eastern Michigan University and will complete his CAA (Certified Athletic Administrator) certification this summer. |

 Field Hockey Campfor Girls entering Grades 3-12
Session: July 22 – July 26, 2013 9:30 am – 12:00 pm $200
This high energy camp will focus on developing individual skills through high- repetition drills. Fundamentals will be stressed making this a great camp for anyone interested in the sport of Field Hockey. Sessions will include scrimmages and competitive drills designed to improve each player’s game skills.

Coach Getz is going into her fourth year as the Cranbrook Varsity Field Hockey Coach. In the 2011 season the team finished with their best record since 2006. The 2012 season was yet another successful campaign that saw the Field Hockey team advance deep into the state tournament. Coach Getz played high school Field Hockey at nearby University Liggett School. During her time there, she was a 3 time first-team all -state selection in field hockey and as well as a four year Varsity soccer player. |

 Youth Multi-Sports Campfor Boys and Girls entering Grades 3-6
Session: July 15 – July 19, 2013 9:00 am – 3:00 pm $350
Each day campers will participate in a variety of sports such as soccer, lacrosse, basketball, football (no physical contact), floor hockey, and baseball/softball.* Our coaching staff will help each camper expand their development in health and athletic skills according to individual abilities,regardless of previous experience.

 Boys Lacrosse Camp and Girls Lacrosse Campfor Boys entering Grades 3-10 for Girls entering Grades 3-10
Session: July 8 – July 12, 2013 Full day: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm $350
Half day: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm $200
Boys and Girls Lacrosse camps focus on lacrosse fundamentals for athletes interested in trying lacrosse for the first time, and also developing skills of the most advanced players. Morning sessions focus on skill development, team concepts and individual play, and afternoon sessions provide full field scrimmages, and fast paced drills that simulate game like conditions.
All Lacrosse participants must provide own equipment.
 Boys Head Coach: Mat Wilson - Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach & Associate Athletic Director – Summer Programs, Cranbrook Kingswood Schools
Mat attended Western Reserve Academy (WRA) where he earned All American honors, is the all-time leading scorer and was nominated to play in the US Lacrosse North/South game. Upon graduating from WRA, Mat attended Georgetown University where his lacrosse team made 4 straight NCAA quarterfinal appearances. In 2007 and 2008, Mat served as assistant coach at WRA. He became head coach in 2009. Under Mat’s guidance, WRA won the MSLCA championship (2009), was ranked #1 in the Midwest by Inside Lacrosse Magazine and he was awarded the 2009 Midwest Coach of the Year. During Wilson's time at WRA, the team made 4 appearances in the MSLCA championship game, boasted a 37-4 record at home and produced the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Midwest Players of the Year. Coach Wilson is currently the head varsity lacrosse coach at Cranbrook Kingswood. In addition to his duties with Upper School lacrosse program, Coach Wilson helps coach The Archer’s Lacrosse Club, a program for 3-6th grade lacrosse players at the Cranbrook Schools.
Girls Head Coach: Amanda Wilson - Varsity Girls Lacrosse Head Coach, Medina High School, Ohio
Amanda Wilson is presently the Head Coach of the Medina girl’s lacrosse team. In her first two seasons at the helm, Wilson was able to lead Medina to back-to-back Division 1 Ohio State Championships (Three State Championships in a row for the Medina program). Prior to coaching at Medina, Coach Wilson was the assistant coach for the Denison University women’s lacrosse team. Her focus was on training goalies but she also worked closely with the program’s defense. Over the past 7 years Coach Wilson has gained valuable experience working at the All-Star Lacrosse Camp at Western Reserve Academy and has served also served as the director of girl’s lacrosse for Gateway Lacrosse camps and Clinics. During the summer of 2013 Coach Wilson will serve as the head coach for Team Ohio at the National Lacrosse Classic in Baltimore, Maryland. During her high school years, Coach Wilson was a high school All-American at Western Reserve Academy. After graduating from WRA, Coach Wilson played goalie for 2 years for at the University of Connecticut before transferring to Denison University. At Denison, Coach Wilson was a captain for the Big Red her senior year and was selected 1st team All-Conference and 2nd team All-Region. While at Denison she was named NCAC All American in Strength and Conditioning. During a semester abroad as a student at Denison, Coach Wilson spent time as a player coach for the Woodville Warriors Lacrosse Club in Adelaide, South Australia. During her time there, the team won the state championship. She won Woodville Warrior’s Best & Fairest Award as the team’s MVP.

 Youth Soccer Campfor Boys and Girls entering Grades 3-9
Session: July 22 – July 26, 2013 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm $200
The Cranbrook Youth soccer camp will help younger players develop important footwork and technical abilities. Camp activities focus on essential skill development teaching fundamentals to those new to the sport while polishing skills of more experienced players. Players can showcase their new skills in small-sided games and competitive instructional drills.

 Boys and Girls Strength and Conditioning CampThe Boys and Girls Strength & Conditioning camps will focus on developing speed, agility, quickness and power in an effort to promote the overall improvement of athleticism. The camps are structured so that the first session is an introduction to strength and conditioning with the second session building on the skills learned in the first session.
These programs are designed to improve:
- speed and quickness
- multi-directional movements
- power
- dynamic balance and body awareness
- sport-specific skills and movements
- stretching to reduce the risk of injuries
- awareness of nutrition

 Boys Head Coach: Jon Tenuta - Strength Coach & Equipment Manager – Upper School, Cranbrook Kingswood Schools; NSCA/ACSM CPT
Jon has been participating in athletic training for over ten years. Jon has personal training certifications from the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and also a certification from the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine). He is one of the Strength and Conditioning coaches for the after school program at Cranrbook Kingswood Upper School.
Girls Head Coach: Caryn O'Kulich - Strength and Fitness Coach, Girls' Tennis Coach-Upper School, Cranbrook Kingswood Schools; NCSF CPT
Coach Caryn has been involved with coaching for 15 years, be it strength and conditioning, tennis, cross country running or basketball. She is currently running the Strength and Fitness after-school program at Cranbrook Upper School and coaching the Girls' Junior Varsity Tennis team. She coached the Cranbrook Boys' Varsity Tennis team for 6 years and the Varsity Cross Country team for one year. Caryn has a Masters in Teaching from Oakland University and training certification from the National Council of Strength and Fitness. |
