Our world-class athletic facilities and beautiful outdoor fields are used by various Cranbrook camps and outside sports programs throughout the year. These camps and programs offer dedicated and experienced coaching staffs and high-quality instruction. FUN-damentally Sound Sports Camps

Small staff to camper ratios are what make the FUN-damentally Sound sport programs so successful. All of our coaching staff is composed of current and former Cranbrook Kingswood athletes, experienced coaches and faculty.  This highly accomplished collection of coaching staff brings together a level of teaching and coaching experience that is unmatched in the Metro Detroit area.  Sections fill quickly, so be sure to enroll early in these highly sought after programs.

    Faculty/Coaches

         Shane Finney-Assistant Athletic Director, Cranbrook Schools
                                    Basketball Coach, Cranbrook Schools: 13 years 
                                    Physical Education Instructor, PreK-1, Cranbrook Schools: 11 years
       During Shane's tenure as Head Coach for the boys and girls Varsity programs he has
       maintained a winning record of 74% with multiple conference titles and a District
       Championship in 2006.  He has built the Cranbrook Kingswood Basketball program into a
       quality program built on discipline, hard work and playing the game the right way.  Shane has
       earned the honors of Cranbrook Schools' Distinguished Teaching Award, Cranbrook Schools'
       Coach of the Year Award, and has been a two-time Metro-Conference Coach of the Year
       recipient.  Shane bringsthis extensive experience and proven coaching models into the fun
       environment of skills camp where all campers benefit from his wealth of background.

         Andy Fairman- Baseball Coach, Cranbrook Schools: 6 years 
                                      Physical Education Teacher, Grades 1-5, Cranbrook Schools: 6 years
       Andy has had a long and accomplished sports career before coming to Cranbrook.  He was a
       three-time Varsity Baseball player at the University of Michigan, then moved into professional
       baseball for four years as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club.  Andy has also
       coached baseball for six years before bringing his extensive knowledge and passion for
       baseball and sports in general to Cranbrook.  In addition to working with Cranbrook's
       elementary-age students and running the baseball program he has coached with its Varsity
       Basketball teams and the Middle and Upper Schools Football teams.
   
    Program Details

         All Sports Skills Camp-for Boys & Girls, Ages 5-12 
       Basic skills for a broad variety of sports are presented in exciting and engaging fashion by
       experienced staff.  An enthusiastic environment for boys and girls with all levels of experience
       makes learning and mastering sport skills fun for everyone.  Campers are grouped by age
       and skill level to ensure successful experiences.  Daily sports skills include lacrosse, flag
       football, soccer, basketball, and swimming.  Additional daily Mystery Activities like hiking, golf,
       softball, tennis, camping and much more round out this active and fun program.
             
                   First session: June 15 - June 19                                     9:00 am - 4:00 pm
                   Second session: August 3 - August 7                               9:00 am - 4:00 pm

                   Cost per week: $350.00

       Baseball Skills Camp-for Boys & Girls, Ages 6-12
       Calling all boys and girls who love baseball!  Baseball fundamentals are taught in a fun and
       engaging atmosphere marked by small, hands-on exercises, and constant participation. 
       FUN-damentals that are stressed include throwing, catching, hitting, pitching, base running,
       rules, sportsmanship and teamwork.  This program often fills with satisfied returning
       campers, so enroll early!

                   First Session: June 22 - June 26                                        9:00 am - 3:00 pm
                   Second Session: June 29 - July 3                                       9:00 am - 3:00 pm

                   Cost per week: $265.00
