|About the Williams Natatorium|
Cranbrook Schools is recognized nationally for the superior quality of its academic and athletic programs. As student population and participation in athletics grew in the mid 1990s, so did the need for a natatorium to accommodate competitive and recreational swimmers at all levels. Cranbrook's Architectural Advisory Council selected architects Tod Williams and Billie Tsien to design the Williams Natatorium.
Speedsters is an opportunity for young athletes (age 7-13) to learn the value of the sport of swimming.

This program gives swimmers the chance to refine mechanics through structured fun and quality coaching. Speedsters will learn to enhance their swimming skills through goal setting, team building, dry-land conditioning, clock reading, in water technique mechanics, and by increasing their swimming vocabulary. An intra-team competition will take place at the program's conclusion to focus on friendly competition and implementing the topics covered in practices.
The program will begin the week of September 8th and the intra-team meet will conclude the session on Sunday, March 2nd 2014.
|Winter 2014 swim lesson information|
Our swim lesson program is designed with special attention given to individualized instruction, small class size and experienced, friendly instructors. Children learn to work in a group setting and receive one-on-one instruction at various points of the class.
Before registering, please review the class descriptions and determine what your child can do. When in doubt, enroll a child in the class where he/she will find the most success and have the greatest comfort level to start of with. Please remember all spaces are first-come, first-serve.
Private lessons are available for adults and children of all levels and abilities.
Start with an occasional lesson or set up a regular weekly routine for more rapid improvement or conditioning. Whether it's your first time in the water, or if you're an avid swimmer, private instruction can help you achieve your swimming goals.
Gain the skills needed to earn a lifetime SCUBA certification. SCUBA classes are taught and organized by Rec Diving
