US Thespians Excel at 2016 Michigan Thespian Festival

Cranbrook Schools’ thespians completed another amazing year at the Michigan Thespian Festival. The festival took place from Friday, December 2nd to Saturday, December 3rd on Saginaw Valley State University’s campus in Saginaw, Michigan.

The Michigan Thespian Festival is the largest annual theatre event in the state. Over the course of the two days, students are given the opportunity to see multiple shows and participate in various performance and technical workshops, compete in individual and group events, learn from information booths and theatre vendors, and submit auditions for college and university scholarships. The festival is a wonderful opportunity for students, families, and educators from across the state to unite in their shared love for the theatre and performing arts.

In addition to attending workshops, competing in performance and technical events, auditioning for college theatre programs, and viewing performances from the other schools in attendance, the students performed their fall production of The Crucible, in its entirety, on the festival’s main stage.

“It was an incredible experience,” remarked Daniel Dobrovich, Director of Theatre to Cranbrook Schools. “One the students and I will not soon forget.”
