Crane Scholarships - Grosse Pointe

Merit-based scholarships to Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School for outstanding new boarding students who live in Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Woods, or Grosse Pointe Shores.
The Crane Scholarships are merit-based grants that are awarded annually to rising 9th, 10th, or 11th grade students who live in Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Woods, or Grosse Pointe Shores. Two new boarding students will be selected to receive scholarships on the basis of excellent academic performance, testing, recommendations, special talents, and personal qualities. The top applicant will receive a $20,000 scholarship, and the runner up will be awarded a $7,500 scholarship. Recipients will continue to be given the Crane Scholarship every year until graduation from Cranbrook Schools.

Admission Information Reception & Scholarship Testing:

Sunday, November 22, 2015: 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
(1:00 p.m. Presentation, 1:30 p.m. Testing)

Students who wish to be considered for this scholarship must first apply to Cranbrook Schools.  This process requires the following steps:

-     Complete the online application form and  student questionnaire
-     Request transcripts and teacher recommendations from your current school (request forms are available on our website)
-     Take the SSAT admission test.  In addition, students who have taken the SAT, ACT, ACT Explore/Plan, may be able to use those scores in lieu of the SSAT.
-     Come to campus for a tour and interview

The Cranbrook Schools Admissions Office must receive all parts of a student's application by  January 31, 2016 for priority consideration.  Recipients of the scholarship will be notified by March 10, 2016.
