In a recent survey, 57% of parents of school-age children in public school said they would enroll their child in private school if they could afford to do so. However, most families interested in private school never investigate the options due to concerns regarding the cost. The information here may help to demonstrate that the benefits of a Cranbrook education can be accessible to your child.

The value of a Cranbrook Schools education
As one of Michigan's top boarding and day schools, we are proud of our independence from local, state, and federal governments.  This allows us to provide unparalleled opportunities to develop challenging, innovative, and creative educational programs. That independence, however, makes Cranbrook Schools completely dependent on tuition revenue and other revenue sources (endowment interest, annual giving, and auxiliary enterprises) to support the faculty and the broad range of programs that are offered. In fact, the total cost to Cranbrook of educating a student is, on average, $2,500 more than the tuition price that we charge. The other revenue sources help to subsidize all students, including those who do not receive financial aid.

Cranbrook Schools seeks to attract a diverse and talented student body. To achieve that end, Cranbrook Schools is committed to providing financial assistance to qualified students whose families cannot afford the School's full charges. In the 2010-11 school year Cranbrook Schools awarded more than $7,000,000 in financial aid, to about one third of the student body - one of the most generous financial aid programs among all private schools in Michigan.
